Dog’s drop 2 to Davidson-One newbie-recievers coach leaves

Today we add a new member to this august group. Welcome aboard Dan Estaban, Romeo ’93!

The weekend did not go well for the Diamond Dogs as we lost 2 of 3 to the Davidson Wildcats.  All three games were decided by one run.  The Bulldogs now sit 8-11 overall and 4-5 in the SoCon.

At the annual Blue-White spring football game the Blue team dominated the White team, 14-3.  Approximately 1,000 fans enjoyed the Bulldog action in 80-degree temperatures as The Citadel defense ruled the day for the Blues.  Next game, September 3 at Johnson Hagood verses Jacksonville with a 7 p.m. kick off.

Don’t forget that you can always go to if you want to keep current on Bulldog sports

Cam Turner ’09 the Bulldog’s wide receiver coach has left the staff and taken a position as the full-time special assistant to  head coach Leslie Frazier of the NFL Minnesota Vikings.  Cam starts his new position today.  This should not come as a surprise since his father Ron Turner is a long time NFL Assistant (now with the Indianapolis Colts) and Uncle Norv is the Head Coach with the San Diego Chargers.  We wish Cam all the luck in the world as he joins the “family” business of NFL coaching.

Finally, Miss Dixie won the Bulldog Contest held at Johnson Hagood before the spring football game. Dixie’s proud owner is Eric Wooten, Band Co. ’79.  Dixie is a beautiful bulldog and if I am not mistaken she is a direct descendant of Boo IX one of our official Citadel Bulldogs.

That’s all for now.  Have a great week.
