The Citadel is expected to name Jim Senter of Colorado University as its new athletics director on Thursday, according to sources at the military school.

Senter, 52, has been at Colorado for nine years, the last year as senior associate athletic director for external operations. He was the administrator for football, overseeing human resource needs and coaches contracts, according to the CU website.

He also served for five years as associate AD for development at the CU Foundation.

Senter also has worked at San Diego State and as AD at Idaho State from 2003-4, and also worked at Idaho as a football coach and an administrator. He’s a 1985 graduate of Tulsa and a native of Doylestown, Pa.

Senter could not be reached for comment Monday.

Senter replaces Larry Leckonby, who left The Citadel after nine years to become athletic director at Division II Catawba
