Citadel baseball’s Stokes, Hunter made all-SoCon preseason team

Southern Conference coaches picked The Citadel to finish tied for seventh place in the league this year, and also selected Bulldogs shortstop Johnathan Stokes and closer Skylar Hunter to the second team of the preseason all-SoCon team.

The coaches predicted the Bulldogs, 24-38 last year, to tie for seventh with Wofford. League media picked The Citadel to finish sixth.
Stokes, a senior, batted .254 and drove in 36 runs last year. Hunter. a junior from Hanahan, had 15 saves last year with an earned-run average of 1.67.

The Citadel will host a Meet the Bulldogs event beginning at 11 a.m. Sunday at Riley Park. The Bulldogs open the season Feb. 13-15 with a three-game series against Air Force.
